This is Edward Simon’s epic arrangement of one of the most beloved Chick Corea compositions, “Spain.” The chart’s introduction includes the Adagio movement from Joanquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez for Guitar and Orchestra. It features piano and trumpet solos and an exciting “soli” for the horns. It was recorded by the SFJAZZ Collective on the album Live SFJAZZ Center 2013 Music of Chick Corea and New Compositions.
